We know that students struggle with answering questions on a standardized test. We have found that many of the issues students have stem from not understanding the question itself. The acronym C.R.U.M.B.S. is a thinking strategy that can be used by students to help while taking a standardized test. Students who have utilized the strategy has shared how it has helped them feel less anxious and more confident when choosing their answers. Teachers have benefitted from being able to see more clearly the students thinking in order to address their misconceptions.
